The young women of Eastside present
‘Phenomenal Young Women’
Gather your friends, sisters, cousins and connect with us to have some fun! Free to attend and open to those who identify as female aged 12 – 18 who live, learn or play in the Tamaki area.
The Phenomenal Young Women group has been created as a response to feedback from locals that there is a need for more support for the young women of Tāmaki. Our kaupapa is to create a safe space where young women in the community can connect with each other. We aim to create a sense of belonging by enhancing accessibility to and identification with our shared public spaces, and the people who share them with us. As a group we learn, create and contribute to our local communities to enhance our wellbeing as individuals and a collective. We operate as a “drop-in” space, guests are welcome to come and go as they wish. With continued support PYW will continue to grow and give more local leaders work and training opportunities.
We are proud to have the PYW group operating in all 3 locations this year: Tāmaki College, Panmure Community Hall and Riverside Community Hall! This term our programme covers some essential life skills and practices such as cooking, fitness and budgeting.
